Hi! I’m Chris Fogg — lifelong dog lover, family man, and the heart behind Pawskies and Dog Friendly NH. I was born and raised right here in New Hampshire, and for as long as I can remember, dogs have been at the center of my world. As a kid, I’d sit for hours with my worn-out copy of the 1012 Dog Breeds book, memorizing every breed and dreaming of the day I’d have dogs of my own. And when that day came, it changed my life forever. My first dogs, Jessie the happy Black Lab (who kept me safe from ghosts — or so I liked to believe) and sweet little Shelby the Sheltie, taught me loyalty and love. Later, as an adult, I rescued Shelly, a Whippet-Shepherd mix who was terrified, malnourished, and so ready for a home — she became our best friend. A few years later came Rufio, Shelly’s best buddy, who filled our lives with joy and adventure. Today, I share my heart (and probably my spot on the couch) with Bailey — my doodle with no noodle. What he lacks in smarts, he makes up for in silliness, hugs, and his endless mission to be as close as possible to his dad (except at bedtime, when mom wins!). I created Pawskies and Dog Friendly NH because dogs have given me so much, and I wanted to build spaces and communities that give back to them. This book is my way of continuing that mission — sharing the real, funny, messy, sweet stories that show what life with a dog is really like.
